Roxanne Burgess, DPM

Dr. Burgess received her undergraduate degree from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York. She received her medical degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric medicine, in Cleveland, Ohio during 2000. Following graduation Dr. Burgess completed primary orthopedic medicine at the VA in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Burgess is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.

Roxanne is experienced with treating a wide array of foot and ankle problems along with the appropriate surgical procedures needed for correction.

She moved to Charlotte to be close to her family in 2003. During Dr. Burgess's time off she loves to stay active while playing tennis and kick ball. Some of her other interest include being outdoors while kayaking and skiing.

Dr. Burgess is a Member of the North Carolina Foot and Ankle Society and a Member of the American Podiatric Medical Association.

 

 

Alison J. Garten, DPM
Alison J. Garten, DPM

Dr. Alison J. Garten is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a CertifiedPedorthist. Dr. Garten is the current president of the American Association for Women Podiatrists (AAWP). Some of her past positions held were wound care panel physician for John Hopkins, a Mayoral Appointed Board Member for the District of Columbia, and an associate for the Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic.

As a native of Cary, North Carolina, she received her Bachelors of Science in Biology at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC where she played Division I tennis on a full scholarship. She then completed her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Garten started her professional career as a resident at Washington Hospital Center/Georgetown University in Washington, DC. As a resident, she provided extensive training in foot and ankle surgery; sports medicine; diabetic limb salvage; as well as elective forefoot/rearfoot reconstruction and management.

She currently authors a monthly blog in Podiatry Today Magazine on diabetic foot complications. Dr. Garten has been quoted in many major publications including: Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, Washington Post Express, Women in Adventure Magazine and Everyday Health Journal. She often speaks nationally on topics on diabetic foot ulcerations and lower extremity wound complications.

True to form with her motto “your health is your wealth,” in her spare time she enjoys vigorous lifestyle activities that include tennis, golf, hiking, mountain biking, running, yoga and traveling with her husband.
